Dock Pros, Inc. - Arizona Division

Glendale, Arizona

"Although I’ve been in the industry and have installed thousands of truck restraints over the past 15 years, I never personally installed a NOVA Truck lock until December 2011.  Our customer had previous good experience with the NOVA Truck Lock and specified it for a 32-position tenant improvement at a multichannel retailer’s distribution center in Phoenix.  Since I hadn’t worked with it I was a bit leery, but my manager told me that the Truck Lock’s simple design with few moving parts makes it extremely reliable – once it’s in, it’s virtually bulletproof.  I was very pleasantly surprised at the ease of installation; we encountered rebar when drilling through the walls so needed to adjust for that, but overall the installation process went very quickly and smoothly."

Manufacturing Facility

Akron, Ohio

Fallsway Equipment Company, a NOVA dealer in Akron, Ohio, recently installed new seals, Truck Locks and levelers at a customer’s site. While they were meeting with the customer during a follow-up visit, a truck driver began to pull away from the dock as a worker was still unloading the trailer. Employees in the dock area tried to signal the driver to stop him, but he continued to attempt to pull away. The Truck Lock held and the worker inside the trailer was able to safely exit to the loading dock. Meanwhile, the driver eventually managed to bend and then actually break the trailer's ICC bar in half – but the Truck Lock remained firmly mounted in the approach. The customer was so impressed with its performance that they ordered more units for an additional site.

Global Food Distribution Center

Jackson, Tennessee

This global distribution center has 80 dock positions. Due to operating costs and the unreliability of their existing dock equipment, the warehouse manager researched truck restraint providers looking for a more reliable trailer lock system that would reduce maintenance costs and decrease downtime.  He worked with the local NOVA dealer, Dock Watch of Memphis, who presented the Truck Lock.  After making a site inspection of another NOVA user, the company was convinced to make the change. They were impressed with the system's simple design and hefty construction and ordered 13 units, which have now been in operation for over a year. They project that with the NOVA Truck Lock the company can save six figures in annual maintenance costs and plan to eventually retrofit all dock positions. They are pleased with how the NOVA Truck Locks have improved dock operations and lowered Total Cost of Ownership.

Town & Country Door

Dundee, IL

"When we landed our first Truck Lock order for eight units, I was pleased to discover that installation is a very simple process. We provided NOVA with photos and information about the site, and they supplied us with the knowledge and tools to make it go smoothly. We didn't even need to hire a second contractor to handle electrical for the control panel -- the hookup is extremely straightforward. I truly believe that if you can use a tape measure and level, you can install a NOVA Truck Lock."

Working with Our Dealers to Achieve Complete Customer Satisfaction

Atlanta, Georgia

A company’s customer service philosophy is genuinely tested by the approach it takes to resolving a problem. NOVA’s responsiveness and concern for quality was demonstrated when a distribution center in Atlanta ordered 52 FPH seals from our local NOVA dealer. Once the order shipped it was discovered that, due to a measurement error, they had ordered the wrong width.

When the dealer contacted NOVA to explain his situation, NOVA suggested a variety of solutions, including several retrofit options, and quickly produced samples for the customer to review.  Ultimately, it was agreed that the customer would best be served by replacing the headers on all 52 seals.  NOVA worked with our dealer to provide the best pricing and lead time, and through our combined efforts we were able to resolve the situation and completely satisfy the customer.

Electrolux Manufacturing Facility

Springfield, Tennessee

We had all types of truck restraints installed in our 40 dock stations and were constantly repairing and replacing them. A few years ago I began to search for a solution that would be more durable, and the one that has consistently held up the best for us is the Nova Truck Lock. Everybody in the shipping department is pleased with its performance and we rarely need to replace any parts. Each time one of the other locks fails I am replacing it with a Nova Truck Lock.

Reinhart FoodService

Rogers, MN

We installed new docks that were sized differently from our other docks, and these altered angles created pinch points. We worked with our local rep from Moore Material Handling and NOVA modified their seals to eliminate the problem – at no additional cost to us. NOVA has fast turnaround time and their seals are delivered with all the hardware required to make installation very simple. They look and work great.

With other manufacturers, a special order on door seals would often take weeks to be approved. At NOVA Technology, I can usually work through the details and get a special order in process with one simple phone call.
